December 8, 2009 dougereed Leave a comment

iHomeInventory users, we are listening to you!

Last night we rolled out a new import feature. You can now download our free home inventory form, add your stuff,  and upload items directly into iHomeInventory. It’s an easy way to add lots of items into the system.

As always, we allow you to track rooms, names, descriptions, replacement value, model numbers, date purchased, and purchase price of each item. Pictures are also supported.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

In order to get the most out of iHomeInventory.com you will need some basic information to get started. The following tips should help.

  • Start with a single room. (we suggest a home office or living room)
  • Take pictures of each item
  • Have a rough idea of market value
  • Other details like data purchased, model numbers, etc. are helpful but not required

After registering, you can upload each picture and attach a value. We will do the rest from there.

October 1, 2009 dougereed Leave a comment

Welcome to the iHomeInventory.com blog.

We’ve  launched our alpha site just in time for fire prevention month. For those who don’t know, fires caused over $15 billion in property damages last year. If those people had used iHomeInventory.com to track all their stuff their insurance agents would had a much easier job.

We want to create the best home inventory software solution out there, and it’s always free.

Let us know what you think!
